Many in the government will be implicated.

They got Roger Khan, they will get the Mohammeds.

Gov’t sends Mae Thomas Toussaint on leave following US report

The Government of Guyana today said it has taken careful note of a US Department of Treasury press release sanctioning three Guyanese over corruption and it has sent one of them – Ministry of Labour Permanent Secretary, Mae Thomas Toussaint on leave with immediate effect while it gathers more information.

A statement by the Government of Guyana follows:

GOVERNMENT OF GUYANA PRESS STATEMENT

Ezoic

The Government of Guyana has taken careful note of a press release issued by the United States Department of the Treasury on 11 June 2024, which informed of three Guyanese nationals and entities as being sanctioned by the Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Based on the information referenced in the press release, the Ministry of Finance and relevant statutory agencies including the Guyana Revenue Authority, will be requesting additional information on the matters highlighted, with a view to aiding local law enforcement agencies.

The Government of Guyana takes very seriously the claims contained in the press release and will continue to engage relevant United States entities on these matters. In the meantime, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Ms. Mae Thomas has been sent on leave with immediate effect.

The Government of Guyana will continue to work with the United States government on all matters of mutual interest, including the respect for the rule of law and order.

I got a little inside information. It was orchestrated by the PPP. Mohammed was contemplating launching a challenge in the 2025 elections and, with his money and widespread support among the poor, could force the PPP into minority status again. The US does not want that. Furthermore, With his close ties to the ME, the concern is the Islamization of Guyana.

Right now the US likes the way it is. Guyana is now a full out ally of the US in that region and they don’t want any ruffles!

The PPP borrowed from Biden’s playbook against Trump.

There will always be conspiracy theories going around. You might be right, GoG wants protection and the US is the only nation that can provide protection that Guyana needs...Venezuela.

It looks like Shell may have been making donations to all the major political parties. He may have been covering all bases. Shell helped a lot of Guyanese of all races so I hope that he can rebound and rebuild legally from this.

The US wants to rollback the creeping Islamization of Guyana. Irfan Ali will be pushed out. He had too much fat talk about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
